Up for grabs is a hard to find Commodore SX-64 portable computer from 1984. Back in the day this computer was used along with a synthesizer keyboard in writing music. The computer is NOT 100% tested but I checked everything that I could and everything appears to be working.
The unit powers on and is quiet, the display turns on and looks great, the majority of the keyboard keys work as should on the first stroke but some need a little persuading. (the inside of the keyboard does need some cleaning as described below), the floppy drive functions properly and the computer loads programs from the floppy disk. I was not able to test the MIDI Interface. Overall this computer is in very nice condition for its age.
It is very clean with no missing parts and only minor damage. Of course it does have several nicks, dings, and scratches from being carried around but nothing major. The only real damage is part of the keyboard cable is missing a piece of a connector that was broken off (but this doesn't affect its performance). You can see some of the conditions described in the pictures if you zoom in.Unfortunately I'm limited to only 12 pictures or I would of taken a lot more pictures. The keyboard cable is missing a piece on the connector (this can be seen in the last picture). Some of the keys on the keyboard need to be pressed multiple times or wiggled to get them to type on the screen. This can be fixed by cleaning the connectors on the inside but I didn't want to be the one to disassemble it.
Some of the plastic has fading or discoloring from age. There are several small or light scratches and rubbing marks on the exterior metal case.
The manual is in tact but does have some small creases and tears on pages. May have a little dust in the small corners. Was not able to test the MIDI Interface that is included. I will have the computer and contents packed nice and secure to avoid any damage.
