I subscribed to Popular Electronics from the late 1960's to sometime in early 1980's. The era of 1970 was THE ERA of the hobbiest - especially the digital electronics hobbiest. I built it and still have it. But the Altair WAS the first of the S100 bus computers. My PE issues got moved several times and are not in as pristine a condition as most of my other magazines.Particularly because I READ them and STUDIED them. But I did not mark in these.
In addition to the Altair article - I had almost as much interest in the electronic music construction articles. Part 1 and 2 of those are in these same two issue.
Feb issue has continuation of Altair 8800 article. Oct has an article on how to build a "Senior Scientist calculator". Nov has the article on the Altair 680 computer. All 4 have my mailing label.Top of the Jan issue has a scuff just above the "r" in Popular - see photo. It has a bit of damage on the binding where the month is. The binding is failing due to having it open at the Altair article at the time for studying - but the article is not damaged as can be seen from the two photos. Feb, Oct and Nov issues looks quite good. The photo of the 2nd part of the Altair 8800 article shows the binding ok on these issues.
