It was called "Picasso", and employed a free-form design element familiar to devotees of the Spanish artist. The nearly 1/2 thick glass is etched on the back side only, with hints of color or frost to create a strikingly beautiful design.
Pictures don't do this justice. A true object d'art! This sign was briefly displayed, then safely packed away for the last 34 years.
The glass is blemish-free and looks great. The plastic light box has yellowed over the years, as is the case with nearly all plastics produced from this era. The good news is that there are several easy remedies posted online which claim to restore oxidized plastic to the original color. No promises on the color, but probably worth a try!
