Extremely Rare Apple Dogcow Watch

Extremely Rare Apple Dogcow Watch. This watch was only available internally to Apple Employees who worked in the Apple Developer Group (ADG). Clarus the Dogcow was the unofficial mascot of Apple DTS. The Dogcow first appeared in the Cairo dingbat font in 1984 and was designed by Susan Kare. Susan designed most of the graphics for the original Mac and later went on to design graphics for NeXT, Microsoft, and IBM (OS/2) and later Facebook.

The Museum of Modern Art in New York City carries products with her designs in their store. The icon for the Dogcow was used in the print dialog of Mac OS 5.0 to Mac OS 9.2.2 (Classic). The Apple Headquarters at 1 Infinite Loop once featured an Icon Garden which had several large scale icons including the Dogcow. The name Dogcow is a concatenation of Dog and Cow as it could be either or both. Its call was Moof, again a concatenation of Moo (cow) and Woof (dog).

Apple DTS once produced a Technical Note describing the Dogcow in more detail, all intended as tongue-in-cheek humor. Searching the internet fo Clarus the Dogcow will yield more information.
