IBM 2316 Disk Pack from around 1966. This disk pack was part of the first hard drive systems used in main frame computing.It was a removable device containing the disk platters of the hard drive. The 2316 disk pack contains eleven 14-inch (360 mm) diameter disks, a total of 20 recording surfaces. It can store 29 MB of data.
It was used in a 2314 Direct Access Storage Facility within the System/360 and System/370 range of main frame computers. In the storage facility, multiple of these disk packs were used to store the company's data.
Comes with some new copies of original paperwork/manuals. Very hard to find original piece of technology.
